In Pictures: Thousands turn out for Wolverhampton's Krazy Races soap box event despite crazy weather
The streets of Wolverhampton were packed as thousands of spectators flooded to the city to watch this year's Krazy Races.
The popular soap box racing event returned to Wolverhampton's City Centre on Monday this year as charities, organisations and foundations raised money for various causes and initiatives.
Racers geared up as they jumped in their box carts to be the fastest on the track, which saw the city centre close to make way for the homemade automobiles.
This year saw a whole manner of crazy and wonderful homemade cars, including a Postman Pat car, a DeLorean and even an especially crazy Colin the Caterpillar.
Holly Patton, from Collins Aerospace's 'Team McQueen' who are raising money for the Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Support Project, said: "It's been a really great day. Everyone looks like they are having a really good time.
"It's a shame that we are coming dead last so far - but we are definitely hoping to be fan favourite."
Among the Collins Aerospace team was an extra creative Colin the Caterpillar, which was also a favourite of many in the 2022 races.
