Claims Wulfrunians are being 'priced out' of going to see events at recently reopened Civic Halls
A Wolverhampton councillor claims Wulfrunians are being 'priced out' of going to see events at the recently re-opened Civic Halls.
The venue – now re-named The Halls – re-opened its doors in June after being refurbished at a cost of £50m.
New figures revealed by Wolverhampton Council recently show the opening season of the North Street venue boosted the local economy by around £1.6m and created more than 250 jobs.
But Tettenhall Wightwick councillor Ellis Turrell, who is vice-chairman of the council's scrutiny board, has slammed figures which show just 20 per cent of tickets were sold to people in WV postcodes.
And he criticised drink prices which stand at £6.90 a pint, with a £1 non-refundable charge for a reusable plastic cup.
