Art work by Elle helping raise spirits
An art teacher has used her creative skills during the coronavirus lockdown to produce three inspirational pieces of work.
Elle McEwan has completed three art works at home to help inspire people during the lockdown, which has been attached to the balcony of her home in Codsall for passers-by to see.
During her time at home, Elle has created a rainbow, which she said was inspired by the other rainbows being put in the windows of neighbouring houses.
The 44-year-old also created a painting for VE Day in May of Sir Tom Moore, which was unveiled over the internet with Elle's husband Greg playing the last post on a trumpet from the balcony.
Her final piece was revealed on Thursday, May 28 during the last clap for carers event, with a painting honouring her local running heroes Stuart Bailey and Earl Williams.
Elle said the pair would run around the neighbourhood each week dressed as Peppa Pig and the Pink Panther to raise funds for the Royal Wolverhampton NHS trust and spoke about their impact in the area.
She said: "The two of them are marathon runners and go out every Monday and Thursday to run around the local area in their costumes and give everyone a little boost.
"I saw them doing this and thought it would be great to do a painting in tribute to them and all the work they've done."
Elle said she hoped to inspire people through her paintings, which she aims to put up for sale to raise money for the Royal Wolverhampton NHS trust.
She said: "I have a creative side and I like making art, which goes with my work as Head of Art at St Peter's Collegiate School as I love inspiring students and adults alike.
"I've had so many messages and emails from students and people who have seen the art work and it's just overwhelming to hear all the kind words about this.
"There's a lot of negativity out there at the moment and I hope this can inspire a lot of positivity in relation to this as art can really help people."
