Carol Chesworth and her son Robin have created a piece of art in dedication to the NHS

Carol Chesworth, 67, from Wall Heath, and her son Robin, 40, from Tettenhall, have combined forces to create the print which they are hoping to sell to raise money.

Robin, who is a fine art publisher, designed the print at the start of lockdown.

It depicts Florence Nightingale, Clement Atlee a £5 note and the letter 'P' for priceless, which represents the worth of NHS workers.

Robin said: "It was not long ago that nurses were described as low-skilled workers, but they are priceless and worth their weight in gold.

"We are hoping to raise awareness and also as much money as possible to help buy equipment for the frontline."

The artwork was then combined with Carol's poem which she wrote as a commemorative keepsake about what has happened during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The artwork titled Bank of Heroes

Carol, a former hairdresser who is now retired, has been writing poetry as a hobby since she was a teenager.

She said: "We wanted to do something to thank New Cross Hospital, who saved my life and my son's life when he was born 40 years ago.

"If it wasn't for them, neither of us would be here today.

"I hope that we can raise some money for these frontline workers who are heroes in my eyes."

The family duo have set up a Crowdfunder page for people to donate and purchase copies of the artwork, to do so visit https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/bankofheroes
