Storyteller John Kirk presents Roald Dahl's classic story.

Roald Dahl's The Twits book was shared with youngsters in the city's libraries – in Spring Vale and in the city – by storyteller John Kirk.

It follows the story of Mr and Mrs Twit – people who enjoy playing nasty tracks on each other – whose lives are turned "upside down" when the Roly Poly Bird visits Mugglewump the Monkey.

It was read out to a crowd of parents and children at the library after the Roald Dahl Story Company Ltd gave its permission.

Mr Kirk said: "We did two events, one at Spring Vale and the other at the central library, and both were well attended.

"They went very well and they were enjoyed by people of different ages, too – including people who have not had access to something like this before.

"I've wanted to work with the libraries for a while and then it came up I was glad.

"I'm glad to be part of what seems to be a broad range of different events in Wolverhampton."

The professional storyteller uses his face and body to act out the scenes – and encouraged everyone to take part.
