Acrobats, jugglers, clowns and comedy sketches, which can normally be seen at top locations such as Covent Garden and Edinburgh Fringe Festival, were among a host of acts in the town on Saturday.

The three-day Bilston Christmas Street Festival, which took place in Church Street and the Outdoor Market area of the town, was organised by the Bilston Business Improvement District (Bilston BID) with support from City of Wolverhampton Council.

The circus acts were brought in with extra funding from the West Midlands Combined Authority.

The additional funding for the street circus comes as the WMCA pumps tens of millions of pounds from its Single Commissioning Framework and Investment Programme into projects that can revive the fortunes of town centres.
