The actress, best known for roles on ITV’s Coronation Street and Benidorm, stopped by at Wolverhampton’s Newcross Care Home.

Ex-Loose Women panellist Hewson made her visit to the Prestwood Road home to mark National Care Home Open Day. She joined the team for an Alice in Wonderland-themed tea party, as part of this year’s ‘arts in care’ theme.

The home was decorated with movie characters and tables were filled with tea sets, while residents showed off their creative skills and created works of art.

Hewson, who is also known for starring in stage productions, took time to speak with residents about their artwork and the string of activities they get involved with at the home.

This includes sewing, knitting, flower arranging and singing.

Nottingham-born Hewson played Maureen Webster on ITV soap Coronation Street between 1993 and1997, before making a return in 2006. She also played Joyce Temple-Savage from 2012 to 2018 in Benidorm.
