Wolverhampton students put on Slade Rooms gig
Bands across the West Midlands will take to the stage at a music event organised by college students.
Pupils at Wolverhampton College organised the Live, Loud and Local gig at the Slade Rooms in the city centre, as part of their coursework.
Wolverhampton-based cover band Carbon Copy will headline the event at the Broad Street venue, joined by rock group Glory Fades and The Borgias.
Jo Slater, curriculum manager for music technology at the college, said: “The event is a culmination of two years of hard work, commitment and dedication from our students and is a chance for them to put everything they have learnt into practice to create a fantastic event, as well as celebrate the end of their course and all that they have achieved.”
It has been put together by students for the two-year University of the Arts London Level 3 extended diploma in music performance and production.
The gig aims to test their skills in live sound, lighting engineering, artist liason, venue logistics and concert production.
Doors open at 7.30pm, with tickets costing £6 or £5 for students from the Midlands Box Office, the college's music department at Paget Road, or on the door.
