Rock lovers pack out Wolverhampton’s The Slade Rooms on Saturday for the Annual Mayor’s Rock Fest

The Annual Mayor's Rock Fest was held at The Slade Rooms on Saturday and The Giffard Arms on Sunday, and bands from across the country flocked to the Black Country to perform at the annual event.

The fest was held in aid of Mayor Phil Page's charities for the year - Inspire You, Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre, Kingswood Trust, and the Good Shepherd Relief in Need.

More than £2,000 has been raised in recent years, and organiser Doddy White said he would expect the same again.

He added: "The first year we had six bands and now we're in our fourth year and have 26 bands performing across two days.

"The bands have travelled from all across England to be here, one has come from Cambridge and another from Manchester. We also have had local bands performing.

"We think we will raise about £2,000 as that's what we have made in the past.

"Mostly adults have come but there have been children too.

"We've had fantastic feedback, people come every year, it's a good, fun festival, everybody really enjoys it."

Bands which performed over the weekend included Vicious Nature, Stand Amongst Giants, Hollowstar, Seize the Void, The Black Bullets, Almost Easy and more.
