Light House is running an exhibition of several weeks featuring local, national and international artists, including Wolverhampton artist J Valentino.

Staff at the city cinema hope the display will inspire the community - and have said it has already received a great deal of interest since the opening day on February 6.

With the free event running until March 30, it hopes the exhibition will encourage the community to support the Save Light House Campaign.

Jas Kapur, cinema and operations manager at Light House said: "Here at Light House we are both proud and pleased to host J’s fabulous work and do our bit to support the community."

The cinema has been struggling as of late, with senior staff making an urgent plea last year for more support from locals and businesses, after a council subsidy worth £73,000 was pulled.

Local artist J has recently launched a project called ‘millionaire club’, where all donations go to places such as Light House.

The money is raised through the selling and creation of his art.

J said: “ I wanted to do something to encourage the city and community here. There’s a whole community of ecosystems in the future to develop like the Light House."
