Meera Syal ties the knot again at Las Vegas chapel
They married for the first time in 2005 in a traditional Hindu wedding in front of friends and family.
But Meera Syal and Sanjeev Bhasker could not resist tying the knot again on a visit to Las Vegas – in a ceremony at the Graceland Chapel conducted by an Elvis impersonator.
The actress from Essington, near Wolverhampton, tweeted a photograph of themselves following the nuptials with the message: "So here I am marrying my Hunka Hunka Burning Lurve – again".
Husband Sanjeev is a huge Elvis fan while she was said to have a house phone that looked like Elvis and gyrated when it rang.
The pair met in the mid-1990s when they worked together on Goodness Gracious Me and went on toe co-write the Emmy-winning The Kumars at No 42 but only got together in 2003 "on a plane to Australia – it was a long flight" their longstanding joke goes.
They wed first time around in 2005 and have a 12-year-old son Shaan
Meera's first marriage had ended in 2001 and she has a 25-year-old daughter Milli, now making her own way in the arts.
