Wolverhampton unsigned artist Sleuth reveals latest video
There's a little bit of magic in the air as unsigned Wolverhampton musician Sleuth has revealed his new music video on YouTube.
The slightly claustrophobic accompaniment to his single Post-it-note Prophecies was filmed at Stourbridge's Claptrap The Venue by Nick J Townsend, the local music mogul who fronts Kidderminster rockers Weak 13 and runs NJTMedia. He has worked with various unsigned artists across the patch producing promotional material to help them realise their dreams.

It features former The Ticket Unsigned page star Sleuth - AKA Tettenhall's Chris Taylor-Ashcroft - stuck with his head in a guillotine and pondering life throughout the Stourbridge nightspot as the song's plush key melodies play out over the top. As the man himself joked: "I get to put my head in a guillotine for Valentines Day."
Nick Townsend added in a post on Twitter recently: "Here's a great musician Sleuth from the #Midlands. I've recently directed his debut music video for his new song #PostItNoteProphecies. It's real magic."

The track is taken from his EP Group Of Bears which was released last month at Wolverhampton-based record store Stay Loose Records.
When we reviewed the EP at the time, we said of the track: "Opener Post-it-note Prophecies starts a little messily but once the beat establishes itself in the opening chorus we are treated to some soft, Travis-like guitars while the bass line punches its way through with thoughtfulness. Sleuth's vocals are off-set nicely with the female backing. It works well.
"Those melodies are a sweet-tinged delight. It's airy and light, a real feel-good track that will be more at home in summer than on these dank, dingy days we live through currently."
