Sathnam Sanghera to join Wolverhampton Literature Festival

Award-winning writer Sathnam Sanghera has joined the Wolverhampton Literature Festival as a special guest.

The Wolverhampton-born journalist, whose memoir The Boy With The Topknot was adapted for television, is set to join Richard Herring.

Mr Herring, known as 'The Podfather' and 'King of the Internet', will bring his award-winning podcast to the city next month.

Previous guests of the Richard Herring Leicester Square Theatre Podcast, which has more than 200 episodes, have included Stephen Fry, Simon Pegg, Steve Coogan, Stephen Merchant, Dawn French, Maria Bamford and Brian Blessed.

It has previously won the Bronze Award for Best Comedy at the 2013 Sony Radio Academy Awards and the Chortle Internet Award 2013, 2014 and 2018 and has spawned brand new book Emergency Questions.

The 51-year-old will chat to Mr Sanghera at the event at Bilston Town Hall on February 1.

Wolverhampton Literature Festival posted: "The special guest has been confirmed.

"Sathnam Sanghera is going to be joining Richard Herring at the Literature Festival on February 1."

The author also took on the role of guest curator for the Birmingham Literature Festival last October.

The festival runs between February 1 and February 3, with more than 100 events scheduled.
