Sleuth, real name Chris Taylor-Ashcroft and from Tettenhall, will unveil his brand new material Group of Bears during a set at the Stay Loose Records shop on Farmers Fold in the city centre.

The set starts at 2pm and copies of the EP, which was recorded and produced himself, will be available to purchase. The set will consist of Sleuth performing with some of his live backing band.

"I'm really looking forward to the EP launch, and it's nice to do it in my home town of Wolverhampton," Sleuth said. "And it's especially nice to be playing in a proper record store, so close to Christmas, and have new recordings out there – so there's lots of things to be excited about."

Sleuth has had his music aired on BBC 6 Music, played shows with Supergrass' Gaz Coombes, Mark Morriss of The Bluetones and John Bramwell from I Am Kloot.

He has appeared at the International Pop Overthrow Festival at the Cavern in Liverpool for two consecutive years and his last EP, Coming Up For Air, was on the cover of local music magazine Ryan’s Gig Guide in 2017.

"I've been described by reviewers as ‘truly remarkable’ with ‘excellent songwriting’ and ‘wonderfully passionate, beautifully structured’," he adds. "The highest altitude show I've played to date must be the 20th floor of the Rotunda in Birmingham where Songwall described the intimate solo piano set as ‘lyrically thoughtful and musically enticing’ and ‘like a consoling chat with a re-assuring friend’."
