WWE UK superstar and co-owner of Fight Club: PRO, Wolverhampton’s Trent Seven, began proceedings by thanking the fans for their support. He wryly joked about how for the first fifty events they eschewed merchandise and aggressive promotion to maintain an underground aesthetic, only for the need to put food on his table, forcing them to change the famous rule to, “would you please tell somebody about Fight Club”. He would be in action later, where he would team with fellow local stars Tyler Bate, and a returning Dan Maloney, against an international dream team of Japan’s Masato Tanaka, Ireland’s Jordan Devlin and New Zealand’s Travis Banks.

The final team member was greeted particularly warmly by the fans in attendance, as this was Banks’ first match back for Fight Club: PRO since he injured his shoulder at a Fight Club: PRO event in July.

Also returning after a lengthy absence due to injury was the WWE UK Champion, Birmingham’s Pete Dunne. He would team with Fight Club: PRO’s champion Meiko Satomura against Schadenfreude’s Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis in the night’s main event. In a nice touch, the promotion brought back former emcee Matt Richards to do the ring introductions. This would have the most heated crowd reaction of any match on the card, with the fans desperate for the fan favourites to emerge victorious.

Their wish was granted, but it turned out to be a pyrrhic victory with Schadenfreude afterwards destroying Dunne and Satomura, and everyone who rushed to save them.

It was however a mixed night for the group. Chris Brookes and their newest member Lucky Kid were unable to prevent Chuck Mambo remaining the King of the Scramble Match, with the fan favourite triumphing in a multi-person match where the laidback humour of America’s Orange Cassidy stole the show. And Tipton’s Hunter Brothers not only overcame Walter and Timothy Thatcher in an entertaining clash between speed and power, but then managed to quickly win the Fight Club: PRO tag team titles from Chris Brookes and Jonathan Gresham.

However with Brookes’ anti-establishment faction presenting their own show in The Hanger less than 24 hours later, he may soon be reunited with his titles. Likewise they will be hoping that Mark Davis can defeat Meiko Satomura, and finally bring the Fight Club: PRO title to Schadenfreude.

Fight Club: PRO 100 will shortly be available to by on DVD or Video on Demand.

Fight Club: PRO next returns to The Hangar on Friday February 1 2019. For more information click here.
