The seventh annual Rebel Rising Country Music Festival took place in Alveley, near Bridgnorth, last weekend.

Hundreds of campers travelled to Alveley Sports and Social Club on Friday to set up for the three-day-long shindig.

Organiser Steve Farrar said it is an event for all the family.

He said: "The festival all came together, we had about 100 caravans. On the Friday it kicked off with karaoke and then a duo from Scotland called James and Woods.

"We have live music all day and then we move into a marquee at 6pm and continue late into the night.

"It's a fun family event, you get everyone there from 80 year olds to little toddlers. People get all dressed up and party all weekend."

Mr Farrar said each year the festival gets bigger and this year there were nine acts lined up to perform over the weekend.

Bands travelled to the festival from Telford, Liverpool, Aberystwyth, South Wales, and some that are based all around the country.

It is the 30th festival organised my Mr Farrar. This year the festival raised funds for Midlands Air Ambulance.

Mr Farrar said he thinks that the total raised over the years must be about £300,000 for a number of different charities including British Heart Foundation, and Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry.
