The former musical theatre student who studied at Birmingham's Ormiston Academy, said: "I think its important that we take the time to support city businesses. A lot of businesses in the city are not run by franchises, they are run by local people and we should offer our help to them."

"We all have our own dreams, and we should support each other's aspirations. I'm glad I was able to do this for the dress shop."

Owner of the shop Elizabeth Jade, based on Showell Circus, Tom Webster, aged 73, said: "Faye has such a lovely personality and meeting her showed me how much of a brilliant ambassador she is for the city.

"I'm proud that she has chosen to come along and show her support for the shop, which has only been going for around 12 months."

Mr Webster, who has been running nearby shop Kids Corner for more than 30 years, opened the store to respond to the appetite for prom and bridal-style dresses.

He said: "With the youngsters looking for prom dresses and accessories like that, we didn't think it was suitable to have those items under the brand of Kids Corner, so we made Elizabeth Jade the store for the dresses. So far, it has been very popular and I'm glad Faye has backed us too."

The beauty star finished as runner up at the Miss Black Country 2016 competition.

Miss Campbell's previous charitable activities last year included completing a bungee jump and organising a special 'Take the mic night' - a sell-out open mic night event held at the Newhampton Inn, featuring an array of talented singers and spoken word artists from across the region.
