Behind the scenes at Birmingham's New Alexandra Theatre

Fans of live theatre had a chance to get behind the scenes when Birmingham's New Alexandra Theatre threw open its doors to offer visitors unprecedented access to all areas.

The free open day on Friday offered theatre goers a unique opportunity to see the inner workings of the much-loved Alex and to meet its dedicated team.

As well as free backstage tours and a series of technical theatre workshops, visitors enjoyed performances from vintage cabaret band The Pin-Ups.
