Having recently completed a run at Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre, fans can still catch the farewell tour of Calendar Girls when it arrives at Birmingham Hippodrome from Tuesday, January 31, to Saturday, February 4, 2012.

Calendar Girls has become the most successful play ever to tour the United Kingdom and has taken more at the box office than the original film.

Its award-winning producers, David Pugh and Dafydd Rogers, have announced that this will be the farewell tour before the amateur rights are released in September 2012.

The original Calendar Girl herself, Lynda Bellingham, returns to the show with Jan Harvey, Sue Holderness, Camilla Dallerup, Deena Payne, Lisa Riley, June Watson and Ruth Madoc, with Kevin Sacre as Lawrence the photographer and Joe McGann as John.

In the play, a group of ordinary women, members of a very ordinary Yorkshire WI, spark a global phenomenon by persuading one another to pose for a charity calendar with a difference . . . in the nude! As interest snowballs, the Calendar Girls find themselves revealing more than they'd ever planned.

The film was released in 2003 and was an instant hit at the box office, becoming the number one grossing film in the UK on its release.
