Black Country Britain's Got Talent star Our Trace backs health campaign for NHS
Britain’s Got Talent contestant and Black Country Comedienne Our Trace, has put her weight behind a campaign to help people get healthier during lock down.
Gymophobics Halesowen's campaign, Losing It At Lockdown, is also raising money for the NHS Charities Together.
Our Trace, aka Tracey Rhodes from Four Ashes, recorded a short video sketch for the Halesowen business which has firmly put them, and their fundraising campaign on the map by going viral.
She said: "My day job is within the NHS and I am in total admiration of the fantastic work that my colleagues are doing on the frontline fighting Covid-19.
"We also need to play our part to support the NHS by staying at home and staying healthy so if I can help people laugh off the pounds it’s a win-win."
Andrea Withers, the owner of Gymophobics Halesowen, launched the free initiative to help all those who have begun to over indulge due to the change in their daily routine brought about by lock down.
She said: “I am a massive fan of “Our Trace” and have seen her perform her hilarious comedy routines at many venues.
"I got in touch to see if she could help to get the message across and motivate people to shed those lock down pounds and help us raise money for the NHS Charities.
"I was delighted when Trace answered by recording a short video sketch including the hilarious poem, Half A Pound, for our page Facebook page. To my amazement within a couple of hours the video went viral and is being viewed by Facebookers across the globe.”
The plan provides support, advice, a low sugar diet plan, virtual weigh ins and prizes for those losing weight each fortnight and a winner for the biggest loss at the end of lockdown.
Andrea is asking is that those taking part make a donation to Just Giving campaign supporting NHS Charities Together Covid-19.
