Working toward grand return
Wolverhampton’s Grand Theatre has sent a defiant message regarding its future – after being forced to close temporarily.
Like theatres across the region, the curtains have been drawn as the nation battles Covid-19 together.
Grand Theatre CEO and artistic director Adrian Jackson said: “I would like to personally thank all our loyal patrons who have been overwhelmingly supportive during this difficult time. I cannot put into words how grateful we all are for the generous donations and well wishes the theatre has received.
“I would also like to thank our dedicated staff who have worked tirelessly to contact as many patrons as possible, and continued to provide first class customer service.
“From Monday we reduced the number of staff in accordance with Government and Public Health guidelines.
“I would therefore ask you to please bear with us and also reassure you that anyone entitled to a refund will receive this, it will just take a little longer, given the current circumstances.
“The Grand Theatre has been open throughout the reign of six Monarchs and 28 Prime Ministers.
“It has also survived two World Wars and with your fantastic support, the team and I will do everything we can to ensure it survives Covid-19.”
