The new season includes the 30th anniversary performance of Stafford Shakespeare, the inaugural Story Knot Festival, and the Gatehouse’s Summer School programme, as well as a wide range of entertainment.

Theatre manager Mark Farley said: “This new season reflects our continued efforts to widen the variety of shows available to Stafford audiences, and to provide opportunities for the community to get involved in the arts.

"We have some truly amazing experiences coming up this season, and I’d invite all to browse through the season brochure – there’s so much happening.”

Customers looking for a rundown of the new season can pick up a copy of the brochure either online on the Gatehouse website, or from the Box Office on Eastgate Street.

Kicking off the season are six friends from New York City. Chandler, Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, Joey and their perhaps more famous sofa are coming to Stafford in March for Friends! The Musical.

The Gatehouse is hosting the world premiere of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, when it opens on April 10 for two performances, prior to commencing its national tour.

The show features some famous faces, and has been described as being like an episode of Loose Women but with a lot more singing and dancing. Join Linda Nolan, Jess Wright, Niki Evans, and Leanne Jones.

In 2019 the theatre brought dinosaurs to life on stage: this year they are welcoming the new show Dragons & Mythical Beasts, an interactive show for all the family.

A special guest will be helping Stafford celebrate VE Day on May 7 - Colin Thackery, winner of Britain’s Got Talent, will be making an appearance for an evening of 30s and 40s music in aid of SSAFA Staffordshire – The Armed Forces Charity.

Another charity event is Stafford’s very own Real Full Monty, they will be appearing at the Gatehouse again in May to raise money for: ‘A Child of Mine’ - Supporting bereaved parents, Andy’s Man Club, The Samaritans and Childhood Cancer Parents Alliance.
