The Stonnall Players will be performing Cinderella, and this will be the first full scale pantomime for the theatre company since 2017.

The drama group was founded in 1976 and each year they create and perform a show not only to entertain, but also to raise money for charitable causes.

A number of new faces have joined the company to take part in the show which is raising funds for The Motor Neurone Disease Association and the Nightingale Macmillan Unit at the Royal Derby Hospital.

Hazel Cartledge, from Stonnall Players, said: "We’re really excited to return to our roots to bring you Cinderella this month.

"The main reason we are able to do this is that we have successfully recruited lots of new faces to grace our stage this year including a gent fresh from his naked success in 2019 performing ‘The Full Monty’ in Stonnall Village Hall whilst raising thousands of pounds for the Prostate cancer charity.

"It took little persuasion for him to agree to play one of the ugly sisters and he’s been very competitive over costume fittings, vying for the most gorgeous outfit!

The group's talented scriptwriters craft each aspect of the play themselves from scratch, even the script and have been performing pantos for more than 40 years.

Cinderella will be performed from January 23 to January 25 at Stonnall Village Hall, Main Street.

Tickets are £7 for adults, £3 for children and £18 for a family ticket (two adults and up to three children).
