The reality television star – best known by her nickname White Dee – will star as the Empress of Brum in the charity's performance of Aladdin.

The Stourbridge-based hospice will stage eight performances – including matinee and evening shows – at Stourbridge Town Hall between November 27 and December 1.

All money raised from the pantomime will be donated to Mary Stevens Hospice, based in Hagley Road, to support patients battling life-limiting illnesses.

BBC WM show host Dee is set to appear in all eight performances, alongside the principal cast and crew made up of professionals who volunteer their time and talent every year to support the hospice.

The cast is completed with James Totney, from Stourbridge, playing Aladdin; Alf Rai, from Willenhall, playing the Genie; Dave Jones, from Gornal; playing Widow Twankey: Wolly Wombat; Lindsay Grant, from Wednesfield, playing Princess Jasmine; and Will Phipps, from Stourbridge, as Wishey Washey.

Amanda Bowen, deputy head of fundraising and lottery at Mary Stevens Hospice, said: "We look forward to our annual pantomime so much and to think we are just a few short months away from taking to the stage now is so exciting.

"Rehearsals have been fantastic so far and we would like to say a huge thank you to all of the volunteer cast and crew who are donating so much time to getting the show stage-ready.

"We can promise our supporters a magic carpet ride unlike anything they have ever experienced as we take them to a whole new world."
