Stafford Youth Theatre on the lookout for new members
Musical Youth Theatre Stafford is searching for budding actors, singers and dancers to join their next performance.
MYTS has secured the rights to 'Wind in the Willows' and is encouraging youngsters between the ages of eight and 18 to join the cast.
This follows a successful run of Wind in the Willows in the West End last year starring Rufus Hound and Denise Welch.
This quintessential English tale, set to music, follows Ratty, Mole and the impulsive Mr Toad as they embark on a series of adventures.
MYTS was founded in 2007 and aims to teach pupils through skills based training, creative workshops, concerts and annual fully staged productions at the Stafford Gatehouse Theatre.
Workshops begin in September which gives prospective members a chance to get a feel for what the company is like as well as the chance to interact with current members.
This year the workshops include a LAMDA based drama workshop and a SHREK the Musical vocal workshop which will focus on acting through song.
This is followed by new member auditions and successful applicants will then join Musical Youth Theatre Stafford and start working with the Production Team on Wind in the Willows which will be performed in July 2020.
MYTS also regularly perform with the adult Society and are currently in rehearsals for Oliver, which is on at the Gatehouse Theatre this October.
Sue Zurawiel, president of the society, said: “We are proud and privileged to have been involved in the development and nurturing of so many talented youngsters over the years.
"It’s always a joy to have them work with the adult Society and to watch them perform their own shows.
"We are always astounded by the sheer level of talent, enthusiasm and professionalism that our youngsters display, they may be young, but their dedication and talent is unrivalled.”
Applications close on August 31.
