Comedians to hit the stage for Stafford charity
TV comedian Kiri Prichard-McLean will perform a charity show at Stafford comedy club Juice.
The 32-year-old Welsh comedian will raise money for House Of Bread, a Stafford-based charity that provides food, supplies and services for hundreds of low income, disadvantaged and vulnerable people in Stafford.
Their Cafe43 venue on Browning Street features a kitchen that feeds 120 people a week, shower facilities, a laundry room and a host of services to help people get back on their feet. All proceeds from the show will go towards replacing a broken washing machine in the laundry room.
Kiri is a regular on TV, appearing on Have I Got News For You, Hypothetical and The Comedy Bus. She has also appeared on Radio 4 panel shows like The News Quiz and Newsjack.
Also on the bill is Free Radio Birmingham's Lovdev Barpaga, Hannah Silvester as well as Stafford's Alex Hylton .
The show will be hosted by local comedian and writer Rob Halden. Rob set up JUICE Comedy 16 years ago and has gone on to write jokes for Mock The Week and Comedy Central.
Speaking ahead of the show, Rob said: “First and foremost, this is going to be a great comedy show.
“These are some of the best comedians on the circuit, and we’re extremely lucky that Kiri has found time to perform for us.
"But on top of that, it’s good to know that while you’re having a great time, you’re also making a difference in your local community.”
The show will take place on Sunday, September 8. Tickets cost £12 and can be purchased from Cafe43 itself, or via the JUICE Comedy and House Of Bread Facebook pages.
