The children's story of Pinocchio has been taken up by Immersion Theatre to create a musical adaptation, of the classic fairy tale.

Immersion Theatre is a multi-award nominated production and general management company.

Formed by James Tobias and Rochelle Parry in 2010, Immersion is a creator of pantomime, family theatre, open-air, drama and large scale musical theatre.

This new take on Pinocchio is written and directed by Immersion Theatre's Artistic Director James Tobias and composed by Robert Gathercole.

The pair have worked together to create musical amputations of Alice in Wonderland, The Jungle Book, Wind in the Willows and The Wizard of Oz, all having gone on to have UK tours.

James Tobias said: "Having worked together so many times, Rob and I have developed a clear understanding of the style of show we enjoy creating: high-energy, pacey scripts with frustratingly catchy songs, which serve to create a larger-than-life introduction to classic stories for youngsters, which older generations can enjoy just as much.

"I adore all things family theatre, so I look forward to working on this wonderful story."

The Amazing Adventures of Pinocchio will be performed at Stafford Gatehouse on May 29 at 2.30pm.
