Help theatre group celebrate its 40th
A charity in the Black Country is inviting young people to design a new logo to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
Bilston-based Gazebo Theatre in Education, which delivers theatre productions and arts programmes, celebrates the anniversary in May.
Gazebo chief executive Pamela Cole-Hudson said: “We are delighted to be celebrating our 40th anniversary shortly and are organising a full programme of events over the next 12 months to celebrate the work Gazebo has produced over the years and the positive impact it has had on people’s lives and careers in that time.
“We are also looking to the future, and would like to mark our birthday by unveiling a new logo – one that celebrates our heritage but also looks ahead to the next 40 years. It would be fantastic for the children and young people of Wolverhampton to get involved.
“The competition is open to children and young people up to the age of 25, and we’re encouraging families, schools, colleges, youth and community groups and faith organisations to take part.”
The competition has been launched to help celebrate the milestone, with the winner receiving a £100 voucher and tickets to one of Gazebo's anniversary events.
Councillor Lynne Moran, cabinet member for education, said: “Gazebo has done some fabulous work with our city’s children and young people over the last four decades, and is looking forward to marking its 40th anniversary in style.
“This is a great opportunity for young people to play their part in the celebrations by getting creative and helping to design a new logo.”
Entries should be scanned and emailed to sarah.parton@gazebotheatre.com, with “logo competition” in the subject line.
Each entry needs to be labelled with the name of the artist, their age if under 18, the name of their school or provision – The Way Youth Zone, for example – and contact details.
Entry closes on April 12.
