Full casting announced for Doctor Dolittle at Wolverhampton Grand
A serial killer and 'loud-mouthed' factory worker from hit ITV soap Corrie are just two of the stars announced for this year's theatre tour of Doctor Dolittle.
The full casting has been revealed for the musical, with Brian Capron and Vicky Entwistle to join Harry Potter actor Mark Williams in the show next year.
It will be visiting Wolverhampton Grand Theatre from January 29 to February 9.
Brian, best known for his role as serial killer Richard Hillman in Coronation Street, will play Albert Blossom/Straight Arrow, while Vicky, most famous for playing the role of factory worker Janice Battersby in the same soap, will play Polynesia.
Theatre actors Mollie Melia-Redgrave and Patrick Sullivan will play Fairfax and Mugg respectively.
They all will be performing alongside Father Brown and The Borrowers star Mark, who is best known for playing muggle-loving Arthur Weasley in the Harry Potter films.
The new production of Doctor Dolittle the Musical will be part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the original film starring Rex Harrison, and will feature the same songs, including the Academy Award-winning Talk To The Animals.
The story sees eccentric Doctor Dolittle embark on an extraordinary adventure with his human and animal friends to find the Giant Pink Sea Snail that holds the secret of life and makes the world a happier place.
It will be directed by Christopher Renshaw, whose credits include Zorro, We Will Rock You, and The King and I.
Doctor Dolittle will be shown at Wolverhampton Grand from Tuesday, January 29 to Saturday, February 9 2019 with showings at 7.30pm and 2.30pm.
Tickets are from 19.50. Visit grandtheatre.co.uk for more.
