Following the critically-acclaimed, multi award-winning production of The Tempest last year, Stafford Festival Shakespeare will return to Stafford Castle this month with a new production of Macbeth.

Starring Nabil Stuart, Rosie Hilal, Daniel Cahill and Ceri-Lyn Cissone, the classic tale follows the story of warrior Macbeth, who murders King Duncan after three devilish witches prophesise that he will rule the land.

Alongside the murderous Lady Macbeth, he plots to secure the royal legacy, though all turns sour when ghoulish visions and suspicion from the pair's dearest friends plague them at all times.

Clare Prenton will be directing the show while production designer Simon Kenny will make his Stafford Festival Shakespeare debut after returning from his work on the touring production of Sweeney Todd which has starred on Broadway.

Craig Adams will be replaced as music director by David Hewson, following his work on Stafford Gatehouse Theatre Summer School production of Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat last year.

Stafford Festival Shakespeare begins on June 28 and runs until July 14.
