Compo, Clegg and Nora are all back as part of a production in Wolverhampton.

The stage production based on the hugely popular BBC series Last of the Summer Wine tells the story of a trio of men up to mischief in West Yorkshire is taking place this week.

Secga Theatre Company is putting on the show at the Towers Theatre, based at Tettenhall College, Wood Road, Wolverhampton from this tomorrow to Saturday.

The production, which involves seven cast members, has been written by Roy Clarke who wrote the original sitcom.

It tells the story of Compo Simmonite, Norman Clegg and Walter ‘Foggy’ Dewhurst as well as Nora Batty and her niece Constance.

Without giving away any spoilers, the production involves a flasher, an evening of entertainment for the benefit of Nora’s niece and a descend into farce.

Tony Stamp, who is publicity manager for the company and also plays Foggy said: “It is incredibly funny. It becomes a farce, particularly in the second act where all manner of chaos takes place.”

The company began in 1968 and is approaching its 40th anniversary. It produces around three plays a year.
