Stafford Festival Shakespeare coming together
An open-air Shakespeare festival in Staffordshire has teamed up with an independent car company before the summer shows.
Stafford Festival Shakespeare's (SFS) performance of The Tempest will open on June 22 and run until July 8 at Stafford Castle.
And ahead of the show, producers have teamed up with car company, Arnold Clark – in support of this year’s production.
This year will mark 27 years since the inaugural Stafford Festival Shakespeare back in 1991, and since then the event has grown to become one of the largest and most popular open-air productions in Europe, attracting thousands of visitors from far and wide.
Producer Derrick Gask said: "It’s wonderful to be able to stage a critically-acclaimed, open-air Shakespeare festival right here in Stafford, which attracts thousands of visitors to the region every year.
"But not everyone appreciates all the hard work and effort that goes on behind the scenes to make this possible – indeed, constructing a full-scale professional set with undercover, grandstand seating on top of a hill is no easy matter!
“As such, we are externally grateful to all our sponsors who help to make SFS the summer showpiece event that it is.
"Arnold Clark, in particular, have been brilliant in supporting the complicated logistical operations of SFS for many years now.
"For example, you may have seen our distribution car around the town recently, which was kindly loaned from their fleet. On behalf of everyone at SFS and Stafford Gatehouse Theatre, we would like to say a big thank you to the Arnold Clark team for their continued support.”
Ticket prices for the festival start from £13.50 and can be obtained from the box office on 01785 619080 or by visiting the www.staffordfestivalshakespeare.com
