The 25-year-old star dancer from Canada, who was crowned the UK and Ireland’s best dance act winning Sky1’s hit TV show ‘Got to Dance’ in 2013, made a special visit to Innovations Dance Company.

Principal at the school Leah Jones said it was 'a fantastic day'.

She said: "It was just fantastic. We are all still on a high. I just contacted his agency hoping for something and they replied back the next day and it was all sorted within a week.

"He was really good. He was all about the meaning behind movement, very contemporary and lyrical. He told the story behind his moves."

Leah, age 24, who lives in Castlecroft, had 27 dancers – aged nine to 29 – there on the day. She originally offered the event to just Innovation pupils, but then offered it out to other dance schools too.

She added: "It was really nice for the students to do as they haven't really done that sort of dance with me before.

"It really helps build their confidence, and I love that."

Since winning Got To Dance, Lukas has gone travelling round the world working with famous artists such as Pink, Carly Rae Jepson and Celine Dion. He also recently performed at the Brit Awards and danced on shows Eurovision and X Factor.

He has also choreographed for X Factor, ITV’s The Voice, So You Think You Can Dance in Canada, USA, Poland and Portugal and is well versed in creating live shows to audiences of more than 60,000 at events like British Summer Time Hyde Park.

The South Staffordshire school Innovations Dance Company opened in April 2017 and offers ballet, jazz, contemporary and more. After opening it started with a group of seven pupils but now teaches more than 150.
