Stafford's Naked Sunday have earned themselves a festival slot

The four-piece, who formed in 2010, won through a competition between Teddy Rocks Festival and throat care range Vocalzone to win a place on the bill at the three-day event in Blandford, Dorset, between May 3 and 5.

They will play the Vocalzone Second Stage on the Sunday - May 5 - on the same day the festival is headlined by The Zutons and also features Toploader and Fatherson. Also playing across the weekend will be acts such as The Lounge Kittens, The Darkness and Cannock rockers Wolf Jaw - formerly called The Bad Flowers under which moniker they appeared in The Ticket Unsigned in February last year.

A brief statement on Naked Sunday's Facebook page said: "WOW - we cant wait to rock it."

Teddy Rocks Festival started with a small gig in 2011 to raise money for Teddy20, a children's cancer charity founded by Tom Newton and his family after he lost his 10-year-old brother Ted to a very rare bone cancer. Since then it has gone from strength to strength.

Following a week-long campaign to gain votes, Naked Sunday were announced as the winners at noon on January 30.

Frontman Martin Stanyer said of the competition win: "This is an award-winning festival raising money for children suffering with cancer. Naked Sunday are honoured to be part of such a great festival."

Naked Sunday have played all over the UK featuring Martin on guitar and vocals, Laura Stanyer on bass, Alex Williams on lead guitar and Liam Collins on drums.

They have just released their new EP called UNBREAKABLE. Frontman Martin is also no stranger to charity work as he co-wrote the hit chart-featured song Hope Ain't A Bad Thing for brave cancer campaigner the late Stephen Sutton in 2014.
