Oscar-winning The Silent Child star Maisie 'invited to meet The Queen' - WATCH
The Silent Child star Maisie Sly has been invited to meet The Queen, according to social media posts by the film's Staffordshire screenwriter Rachel Shenton.
Rachel created the Oscar-winning drama short film, starring Maisie, alongside her Cannock fiancé and director of the short, Chris Overton.
The former Hollyoaks actress has posted a video on her Instagram and Twitter pages showing the young deaf star's reaction to the news of her upcoming meeting with The Queen.
The video has since had a total of more than 40,000 views on Rachel's two pages.
Shot solely in Staffordshire, The Silent Child won the best live action award back in March and tells the tale of a profoundly deaf four year old in her preparation ahead of her first days of school.
