Cheers! TV antique experts Paul Laidlaw and Catherine Southon were at Cuttlestones Auctioneers, Penkridge, to film BBC's Antiques Roadtrip. They are pictured with auctioneer Ben Gamble

Experts took a trip to the Cuttlestones Auctioneers & Valuers in Penkridge to film an episode of the new series.

Television cameras captured dynamic duo Catherine Southon and Paul Laidlaw in action on Wednesday.

And during the trip, the pair enjoyed the atmosphere of Penkridge Market – meeting traders and delighted shoppers.

Valuables they had bought throughout the week were auctioned off at Cuttlestones, as the pair battled it out to make the most cash on their items.

Paul told the Express & Star: "We are on the third auction of our roadtrip across the Midlands.

"We've both got five lots in this set. This location feels so vibrant – these aren't so common as they once were or as they should be.

"It's not people selling craft work and the odd strawberry tart, it's a proper functioning market.

"I think it's fantastic place and the sun is shining so it's all good. We came across from the East Midlands and touched across to Wales and then into Shropshire."
