Jazmin, from Staffordshire, will team up with reigning champion of Britain’s Got Talent, Tokio Myers to record the Official Anthem of Commonwealth Games England, Jerusalem.

She will lend her powerful vocals to the track as she looks to support her fellow athletes ahead of their trip down under.

Jazmin won over the hearts of the nation in the Glasgow 2014 games when she took home a silver medal for her 6.5m leap and will be heading to the Gold Coast with the rest of Team England in advance of the official opening on April 4.

The 23-year-old, who is the daughter of ex-Staffordshire Police chief constable Jane Sawyers, will be competing in the long jump from April 11 and hopes to make it the finals on April 12, taking home another medal.

She said: "It’s always an honour representing Team England in the Games so it’s even more special to be singing vocals on Jerusalem, especially because I was able to record it in front of my teammates. It’s definitely going to push me harder in training and on the track."

Recorded at London’s iconic Abbey Road studios, the song is a modern twist on the iconic original track, encouraging fans across the country to show their support for Team England.

The recording of the track was bolstered by a 54 piece orchestra and 10 person choir as well as athletes including divers Jack Laugher and Lois Toulson, gymnast Max Whitlock, para-swimmer Ellie Robinson who all attended the recording with their families.

Jerusalem was confirmed in 2010 as the track for CGE after it won first place against ‘God Save The Queen’ and ‘Land of Hope and Glory’ in a fan’s poll.

Max Whitlock MBE, Team England gymnast: "It’s great that we now have the track and experience of the recording day to remind us of the support that we got in Glasgow.

"Having my family there with me at Abbey Road Studios was extra special as without their support I wouldn’t be where I am today."
