Eighties pop star Tiffany woos the Cannock crowd after two nights at the Bar Sport venue in the town

The throwback teen icon, now 45, flocked to Bar Sport on Friday and Saturday night to perform two shows at the town centre venue.

Her adoring fans came from as far as Scotland to see her – which saw her woo the crowds with a series of classics and covers.

The gigs kicked off the start of the two month long Forest Fringe festival – which aims to give local venues and artists an opportunity to collaborate and promote events in the town.

Scott Murray, owner of Bar Sport said both evenings were 'better than we'd ever expected'.

"Both nights were really good. The musicians she played with were really good and it was very relaxed and up close and personal.

"She had a great voice and was really intimate with all the customers – she took time out for photographs autograph's.

"People from Scotland and Wales and even Devon came to see her. It was incredible the fanbase that she's got.

"She played a mixture of her original stuff and a few covers as well. All of it was superb."

Tiffany is no stranger to Cannock after marrying businessman Ben George – who hails from the town.

And she even surprised drinkers at the same venue in 2016 when she leapt on stage for an impromptu warm-up gig.

Mr Murray said there were around 200 people that turned out on each night and he hopes to bring the 80s singer back next year.

"I've known Ben for quite a while and she used to drink at Bar Sport years ago. She did a little stint on stage for us last year and started signing a song.

"She happened to be having a drink one night last year and got up and started singing so I asked her to come back to do a show and she did. We'll do the same again next year."

Another special event will close the festival when local rock legend Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple and Trapeze takes to the stage at The Premier Suite for an intimate Q&A and acoustic gig.
