Comedian Mo Gilligan announced as host of this year’s Q Awards
This music magazine’s annual event will be held in October.
Comedian Mo Gilligan will host this year’s Q Awards.
The annual ceremony hosted by the music magazine is celebrating its 28th year.
Gilligan, who has appeared on Channel 4’s The Big Narstie Show as a co-presenter, has also just landed his own six-part comedy on the channel called Mo’s Show.
The comedian said he is “really excited” about hosting the Q Awards.
He said: “I gave out an award last year at the Q Awards, to Stormzy, so a year later to be hosting it is quite an honour. I’m really looking forward to it.”
Gilligan was working in fashion retail and gained fame through his comedy videos posted on social media.
The awards, in association with Absolute Radio, will feature seven prizes voted for by the public, as well as merit awards bestowed by Q Magazine on the night.
Bands Wolf Alice and Idles will perform at a post-show gig.
This year’s awards will be held at Camden’s Roundhouse on October 17.
