Lady Macbeth tops British Independent Film Awards nominations
It is up for best British independent film, best director, best actress for Florence Pugh and best supporting actress for Naomi Ackie.
Lady Macbeth has topped the list of nominations for the British Independent Film Awards – with 15 nods.
It is up for best British independent film, best director, best actress for Florence Pugh and best supporting actress for Naomi Ackie.
Other best actress nominees are Emily Beecham for Daphne, Ruth Wilson (Dark River), Margaret Mulubwa (I Am Not A Witch), and Frances McDormand (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri).
The Death Of Stalin and I Am Not A Witch are in the running for 13 trophies.
A total of 35 British feature films have been nominated for the awards, to take place in December.
Awards organisers said in a statement that the nominations form a “diverse and varied list”, adding: “It is especially encouraging to see so much exciting work from so many new film-makers. This points to a very bright future for British cinema.”
It has previously been announced that Gary Oldman will receive The Variety Award.
Actor Mark Gatiss will host the ceremony on Sunday December 10.
