Jeff Brazier is tying the knot and his sons will be his best men
Jade Goody’s ex proposed to his girlfriend of four years after seeking permission from Bobby, 14, and Freddy, 13.
Jeff Brazier is engaged – and he has the approval of his sons with the late reality TV star Jade Goody.
The TV presenter, 38, proposed to his girlfriend of four years, Kate Dwyer, in Ibiza, after seeking permission from Bobby, 14, and Freddy, 13.
Brazier has raised the boys since the death of Goody from cervical cancer in 2009, at the age of 27.
“They said, ‘What will you do, dad, if she says no?’ I said, ‘I don’t want to be complacent, but I think we’re all right’.”
At next summer’s wedding, his sons will both stand beside Brazier as his best men: “It means a lot to me, for them to be such a huge part of the wedding.”
The couple plan to marry “somewhere hot”.
“I told her I loved her, and had been thinking about this for a while. I pulled the box with the ring out from my back pocket and asked if she would marry me. It was a very special moment,” he told the magazine.
“He gave me a kiss, and as soon as I saw the box I lost it. I’ve thought about this moment my whole life and you don’t know how you’ll react. But I was overwhelmed,” she said.
Meanwhile, celebrity hairdresser Nicky Clarke has spoken in the magazine of being both a grandfather and new dad.
Clarke said his baby son, with designer Kelly Simpkin, is already showing signs of taking after him, adding: “He had so much hair. Nurses couldn’t believe it!”
