One Direction star Liam Payne celebrates 19th birthday

Wolverhampton-born pop heartthrob Liam Payne was given an early birthday surprise when he was presented with a huge Batman-themed cake at a celebration arranged by his girlfriend.

The teenager, who turns 19 tomorrow, posted an image of the treat to his 5.5 million followers on social networking site Twitter.

Bushbury-born Liam enjoyed Sunday's festivities thanks to his stunning girlfriend Danielle Peazer.

The night before, the One Direction star was joined by his bandmates at the Funky Buddha nightclub in Mayfair for a party in the VIP section of the exclusive club.

He wore a casual top with a pair of dark denim jeans while Danielle stole the majority of the limelight dressed in a purple bandage dress and nude heels.

Liam's cake was designed by London-based The Cake Store. On Sunday, former St Peter's Collegiate School pupil Liam tweeted: "What a great day."
