Couples invited to wedding event
Couples tying the knot are being invited to a wedding open day at Sandwell Register Office next month.
Visitors to the open day on Sunday, March 8, can enter a prize draw to win a free ceremony on a date of their choice during the next 12 months.
The day will be a chance to see inside Highfields House and view the beautiful ceremony rooms which can cater for up to 85 guests and to enjoy the gardens – depending on the weather.
Visitors can also meet local wedding suppliers. Among the businesses on show will be wedding cars, event planners, a horse drawn carriage, florist, photo booth, caterers, bridal dresses, cakes, doves, wedding stationery and merchandise and a photographer.
Councillor Wasim Ali, Sandwell Council's cabinet member for resources and core services, said: "Sandwell Register Office is such a wonderful place to get married and it is a great opportunity to see inside Highfields House at your leisure.
"I am sure it will be a great day.”
The open day will run between 10am and 4pm. The prize will be drawn by the Mayor of Sandwell at 3.45pm.
