Great Barr 'Love Island widow' has last laugh with Paris trip
A Love Island superfan from Great Barr missed the final show after her partner won them a trip to Paris – because of her love of the ITV2 show.
David Price, 46, won a competition organised by online fair casino PlayOJO to find the nation's most neglected 'Love Island widow' – ignored by their other half for eight weeks because of the show.
People had to share the most outrageous example of their other half's Love Island consumption – with the only catch that if they won the prize, they had to travel during Monday(29) night's final. David entered the competition and won the getaway to Paris for his partner Kellie Price, 39.
He said: "Kellie is a big fan of the show and tunes in every night to catch up on the latest action in the villa however sadly I don’t share the same enthusiasm as her. Last year I booked a surprise meal at a nearby restaurant for her birthday with her family however with a tense recoupling happening in one of the episodes, she refused to leave the sofa despite me harassing her to get up so we didn’t miss our booking slot.
"In the end she told me to shove the restaurant where the sun doesn’t shine and so I ended up meeting up with her family alone.
"When I read about the Love Island widows campaign online, I just knew I had to submit my funny story and I was delighted when I was given the honour of being voted the biggest Love Island Widow in the UK."
