Manor House Museum in West Bromwich hosted a Dinosaur take over family fun day on Saturday, as part of their Jurassic week.

More than 1,000 visitors flocked to the take over across the week, with youngsters being entertained by Pete the Dinosaur, who prowled the grounds of the medieval manor house and posed for selfies.

"It was really, really good," said Abbey Butler, visitor services officer at the museum.

"All the staff worked really hard and they were really pleased. The visitors that came all really enjoyed it."

There was also the opportunity for kids to get involved in archaeological activities including fossil and bone hunting.

Abbey added: "The kids thought it was a real dinosaur so they were all really excited.

"The week went really well, we've had fantastic feedback."
