They have been made as part of a 10-week project called the Big Sleuth, which has been set up to raise money for Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Three of the bears will be located in Bearwood while the other three are in West Bromwich. All will be set up on display in streets, parks and open spaces.

Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for leisure Councillor Richard Marshall said: “It’s great that we’ve been able to join in with The Big Sleuth trail this year.

“The Big Hoot owls in 2015 went down fantastically well in Birmingham and straight away I knew I wanted us to be a part of the next project.

“To have six bears in Sandwell is a fantastic achievement. The trail officially goes live on Monday (July 10) when all the bears will have made themselves at home in their new habitats.

“It’s very exciting and I hope people will enjoy visiting our bears and raising lots of money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.”

He posed for pictures alongside two of the bears which are in Bearwood. One of them is located in Lightswood Park, while the other is in place by the bus station.

Another art trail taking place in the Black Country is Wolves in Wolves, where 30 wolf figurines are spread out across Wolverhampton.

Three of the Sandwell bears will be auctioned off in aid of the hospital after the trail ends on September 17.

The other three will be found new homes around the borough.
