Club guide with DJ Stuart Ojelay - February 1

So fingers crossed – the January blues are officially out the way, writes Stuart Ojelay. This was more than evident last weekend as it was great to see so many of the West Midlands clubs rammed and rocking.

Here's to more of the same this weekend.

Starting with Urban Vibes at Revolution Walsall for FDGD and TRC's Birthday bash.

There's a huge line up with over 10 DJs installed and as always you'll never be disappointed in their drinks and cocktail selection.

Staying in Walsall and a new concept called Zeal at the Wharf Bar. This is for like-minded individuals who have a love for music.

They blend a fusion of everything from Hip Hop to House with a stylish touch. DJs include Alex Abnett, Zach Hamp & Keeko.

Wicked! is a brand new House night at Piques in Cannock. The town has been starved of this musical genre for some time now and who better to lead the charge than headliners Will Bailey and Hannah Wants.

Supported by Jon Walker and Ricky Cowley, this one is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Big Bass and Jackin anthems are in order at the Glasshouse in Stourbridge tonight for Switch. DJs include The House Monkeyz and Davey Boy.

Fans of the genre in Wolverhampton will be delighted to hear that Planet Dubstep is back tonight. Resident DJs Chobba, wilko and trebz will be firing out nothing but bass.

With low admission fees and great drinks prices this attracts a great loyal following.

The Rainbow Pub in Digbeth has undergone huge refurbishment to turn itself into a pub again! Look out for great touches around the place such as retro gaming machines. This looks like a fine social hang out.

Three huge events in Birmingham on Saturday to tell you about.

First up there's Face which bring you the first in their all nighter series. Apollonia headline who are a musical collection of Dyed Soundorom, Dan Ghenacia & Shonky.

They're massive on the underground scene at present and a real coup for the second city.

Next up is the return of Laid Back Luke at Gatecrasher Birmingham.

Now, I was lucky enough to play alongside him at this venue a few years back now and can safely say he's nothing short of a deck wizard. I learnt a trick or two from him myself!

He's supported by resident Kris Shaw who always delights!

Finally we see the extravagant Brothel series 7. Combining excessive production and eccentric performers to a House and mash up soundtrack.

Headlining this time around is D Ramirez. Support comes from George Kafetzis, Rue Jay, Harry White and Ste Savage.

I'm back up north this week to play for Hed Kandi at Bed in Leeds.

Always a pleasure to play under the Gatecrasher brand and mix this with the glamour of a Hed Kandi production and it's always a bit tasty!

A massive thanks to those who have supported my debut solo track 'Drive Me Crazy' available on all top download sites and is currently storming up the House charts – Happy days!
