The club guide with DJ Stuart Ojelay - January 25
Even though the big freeze continues to put us all out of sync, writes Stuart Ojelay, at least there's a ray of positivity for many of us with it being pay day weekend.
The first one of a new year always brings us out in abundance and I'm sure there is plenty of cabin fever setting in this time around so let's take a look at where you should indulge yourself.
Local fans of Bassline should be delighted as Judgement Night returns to Monty's in Sedgely tonight.
Arrive early doors to receive a FREE CD and Vodka shot. DJs include Warp Addicts, Woz DJ and Craigyboy who never fail to supply the warpers!
Whatever continues to pack them into Gorgeous Wolverhampton with them delivering a consistent quality DJ line up and lively atmosphere.
Joining residents Ill Phill, Chris Steele and Danny Jones this time around are Nick Hannam and Tom Garnett.
Elevate are based at 7's nightclub in Burntwood and have built up a loyal following by hosting great house events for house music lovers!
The delectable Becki De Funk headlines this one with support from Benny Rich and Roger Jay. Not forgetting Benjammin on Saxophone who is one of the more naturally musically gifted and always puts on a show.
Moving into Saturday and Spin are notorious for being one of the Midlands longest standing brands and are continually evolving. They take over Vanity in Tamworth with Rue Jay, Will Bailey and Sunny Mandez at the helm to fire out their signature soundtrack.
For lovers of anything from Disco to House then check out the Slug & Lettuce in Birmingham for Sounds of 54 whom are throwing a free party.
Taking you back to the old skool are The Bulls Head in Moseley as they bring you Enter the Dragon. This is a strictly vinyl only night as they dust off the Technics 1210's and bring you cuts from 1996 to 2000. Your DJs are Jem Atkins, Mark Jarman and Steve Kelley.
TRMNL continue to bring us the very best of musical talent at the forefront right now. Taking place at LAB11 in Digbeth they drafted in System of Survival whom took Circo Loco DC10 by storm in Ibiza.
It's a busy time for the Garrett & Ojelay production duo at the moment.
As our collaboration with Ted Nilsson and Pryce Oliver still sits in Top 10 of the House Charts, you can also check us out gigging this weekend.
James can be found at Una-Teka at Careys, Coventry. These are guys have built up a fine reputation in the area for hosting only quality music events and this one should be no different. Supporting DJs include Ben Mackey and Jen Kaye.
Then James will be at Bushwackers in Birmingham for some late night shenanigans alongside One four, Attison and Paul Henry.
Hope you all have a great weekend and don't forget to hit me up with any clubbing gossip on my social networks. Twitter.com/stuartojelay facebook.com/stuartojelay
