Black Country youngster performs live on radio and invited to hang out with The Script
An eight-year-old performed a song about his school live on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show and was invited to see The Script perform in London.
Harry Cox came second in a competition run by Chris Evans and Virgin Movies to create a Christmas song about his school, The Ridge Primary School, and the radio show.
Chris Evans invited Harry and his father Matt along to the winning school on the last day of term where he was broadcasting live, and asked Harry and Matt to sing live.
And Harry, from Wollaston, was also invited to watch The Script perform at the O2 in London, meet the band and perform with them while sound checks where taking place.
Matt said: "We sent in a song and thought no more of it then over the weeks they started judging and Harry came second.
"It ran down to the final 12 schools initially and they all got a collection of books and an opportunity to visit Sky Academy Studios.
"The competition went to a school in Ipswich, but they struggled to judge between Harry's song and the other school so they invited Harry along to the school on the last day of term where they performed live.
"The Script were helping judge and invited Harry to come to the O2.
"Harry performed in front of the crew and singer Danny joined in.
"Harry really enjoyed the experience, he had a great time.
"I don't think it'll be until he's older that it really sinks in, then he will realise the enormity of it, it really is a big deal.
"He loves his music, he's often singing around the house.
"He's naturally very talented and has piano lessons.
"Even though we came second I think we won really."
