Brierley Hill's Dead Happy release single with Electric Six
Brierley Hill electro punks Dead Happy have teamed up with Detroit outfit Electric Six to release a brand new single.
The band say they have "made a music baby" with the Americans who are most famous for singles Gay Bar and Danger! High Voltage!.
"We now want to get it out to everyone we can," they said of the track - called My Sex Appeal - which also comes with a promotional music video filmed at Wolverhampton's famed rock and metal venue The Giffard Arms.
Dead Happy formed in early 2014 and have played festivals such as Bearded Theory and Boomtown Fair. They have garnered attention for their live shows which have featured elements like fire, aliens and robots, but their newest adventure with Electric Six is set to be their "biggest yet".

"Not stopping there, Dead Happy hired Steve Whitfield to complete the mixing whose had previously worked with The Cure, The Mission and Terrorvision to name a few," they said in a statement.
"We had been fans of Electric Six for years so it was insane that we had the opportunity to record a song with them" added frontman Professor Partorius. "We were able to just send information back and forth by email and get it all done with both of us being the other side of the ocean. The song we wrote is about finding confidence in yourself and expressing that to the world."
The Americans are proud of the work, saying in their own statement: "Electric Six has always endorsed and encouraged the themes of rock 'n' roll, sex, and announced breakdowns within any given rock 'n' roll song. Here, Dead Happy prove to be noble savages providing all the tropes and trappings of a classic four-minute-and-11-second rock song. You can taste the leather, you can smell the glove. You can listen to Dead Happy.”
Dead Happy are very DIY, recording all their own music and doing all their own videos. "We try to have fun and make videos about wrestling robots and people getting shrunk into their own shoes," Partorious adds. "For our first music video [the single Off Switch] we had a full team of professional filming crew, actors, puppeteers, all sorts. But then for this video we had no budget, no crew and no clue. So we thought we'd go back to basics and just take a box of props to the pub and have fun.
"We tried to get Dick Valentine from Electric Six but we didn't have the budget to fly him over, in fact when I contacted him he tried to sell me some erotic novels – that's not a joke, that actually happened."
My Sex Appeal is coming out on February 14 - Valentine's Day - and will be available at all online stores and also their own website deadhappyband.com. The Wolverhampton-filmed music video is available to view via their YouTube Channel, along with their back catalogues of "zany videos".
